Church of All Nations lives up to its name during Pope’s prayer vigil

(TerraSanctaBlog)  Where tradition holds that Jesus shed his tears of agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, so too Christians shed agonizing tears pleading for peace in Syria and the Holy Land last Saturday, September 7th in response to the Pope’s worldwide call for prayer and fasting.

“Local Christians, priests and nuns missioned here, pilgrims from abroad… the Basilica of the Nations lived up to its name Saturday night when Christians from all denominations, rites, languages and peoples filled it to make what Pope Francis has called “the cry of peace” sound out from Gethsemane.”
