(Terra Sancta Blog) With all of the bad news about conflict in the Middle East and beyond, it’s nice to hear some good news. Christian and Jewish pilgrims, making a joint pilgrimage, planted trees in honor of Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini who was an advocate of Christian-Jewish relations and who tried to inspire a great love for the Holy Land. He was also instrumental in promoting to Catholics a greater understanding of our Jewish heritage. Both Jews and Christians prayed at the tree-planting ceremony. The forest that will be developing is officially named in Cardinal Martini’s honor. Click here to watch the video.
