FFHL board member, Kathy Assaf, brings volunteer experience

(FFHL) Mrs. Kathy Assaf graciously agreed to join the FFHL Board of Directors. She currently resides in Elk Banner, NC with her husband, Ron, of 34 years. They have five children and 10 grandchildren. Kathy and Ron were invested in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher in 2010. She graduated from South Broward High School, attended Rollins College and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BS in Business Administration.

Ron-Kathy-Assaf-300-DPIKathy’s work history includes Senior Auditor at Arthur Young & Company, Director of International Services Dept. and later Director of Special Projects at Sensormatic Electronics. She served as a Member of the Board of Directors and later as Chairman of the Board of Boca Bank and later as a member of the Board of Directors of Intercontinental Bank.

Having received numerous awards of recognition beginning in 1985, Kathy received the Woman of Distinction in Finance (Soroptomists) Award, St. Jude Our Lady of Mount Carmel Award, Outstanding Philanthropy and the Leadership Award from Rotary International, to name a few. The Academic Center at Lynn University is named in honor of Mr. & Mrs. Assaf as is the Assaf Administration Building and Assaf Hall on the campus of St. Andrew’s School and the Assaf Center for Excellence in Nursing at Boca Raton Community Hospital. Mr. & Mrs. Assaf and their children have been recognized and commended by the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem as founders of the Home for the Aged and Special Needs Children in Taybeh, West Bank.

Kathy has been active in community service including church-related committees at both parish and diocesan levels. Other community services include events for fund raising for charities such as the Diabetes Association, Cystic Fibrosis Association, American Heart Association and American Red Cross.

The FFHL is truly blessed to have Mrs. Assaf as part of the Board of Directors and will benefit greatly from her past experience and talents.

Kathy Assaf is now a member on our Emeritus Board. She has served FFHL.org since 2014 and has provided outstanding service to our organization. We appreciate her for her philanthropic support in providing marginalized Christians in the Holy Land with quality of life.
