New US/Holy See Ambassador focused on peace in Holy Land

(Terrasanta.net)  He doesn’t know what he’s facing yet but he knows it’s a priority.  Ken Hackett gave an interview with terrasanta.net in which he said that one of his major priorities as he takes over as US Ambassador to the Holy See is to focus on “what can be done and how the Holy See can play a role in that search for peace in the Holy Land, in Syria, in other areas.”

When speaking to the Holy Father after providing his credentials, Mr. Hackett, who worked for 40 years with Catholic Relief Services said, “convergence, complimentarity, and support” are what he would like to build on and added that both parties [US and Holy See] “have the same goal in mind and that’s peace.” He added that he hoped to “share tactics and approaches” with the Holy See on how to reach that goal for Israel, Palestine and other countries in the Middle East.
We’ll see.
