(FMC) We at FFHL and our partners at the Franciscan Media Center would like to congratulate the Secular Franciscans of Bethlehem on their 125th anniversary. For the last century and a quarter, they have focused on the Gospel of Jesus “in daily life, bringing it to the life of every man and woman. This is the vocation of the Secular Franciscan Order that in recent days celebrated the 125th anniversary of its foundation of the Bethlehem Fraternity. Started by the will of Saint Francis, the Order welcomes all those wanting to follow in the footsteps of the friar of Assisi in lay life.”
FMC reports, “With about 140,000 members all over the world and four fraternities present in the Holy Land, in Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jerusalem and Jaffa, the Third Order Religious are committed to being witnesses of the Gospel” teaching with their own lives; they are also committed to offering concrete support.
