Tim was born in Washington, DC and raised in suburban Maryland. Tim’s maternal and paternal grandparents lived down the street from the Washington D.C. Franciscan Monastery, where Tim and his eight siblings often visited. One grandmother was a secular Franciscan. Tim graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, completed a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Catholic University, and obtained a MBA degree from George Washington University. After a career spanning the Department of Labor, General Services Administration and Department of Health and Human Services, Tim served as Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for pro-life Congressman Chris Smith (NJ), also serving as health analyst – providing staff support for caucuses chaired by the congressman on Autism, Alzheimer’s and Lyme disease. After federal retirement, Tim became a Board member of the Lyme Disease Association, headquartered in New Jersey. In February 2014, Tim joined the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land and in October 2019 he assumed the position of Treasurer for the organization. Tim is the father of four children who live in three states (MD, CA and MT) and grandfather of two in MD and two in MT.
