After three years, Cardinal Timothy Dolan is calling it quits. The FFHL Board Member will hand over the reigns of leadership for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to a new bishop. During their annual meeting, scheduled between November 11-14, the US Bishops will elect a new president and vice-president.

Dolan has led during some tumultuous years that included many rounds in the ring with President Obama over a number of issues that directly effect Catholics. The most notorious issue has been the HHS Mandate that continues to be unresolved from the Catholic perspective. Not only did he lead the Church through outside challenges but also raised the level of personal accountability among his brother bishops over the sexual abuse scandals that have plagued the Church in recent decades. Our thanks to Cardinal Dolan for his tireless work on behalf of the USCCB and his vocal support of Christians in the Holy Land.
