Bethlehem’s Franciscan Boys Home Celebrates 15th Anniversary

WHO: Father Peter F. Vasko, OFM is available to speak about how Bethlehem’s Franciscan Boys Home is a pillar of hope and promise to so many youth facing struggles in the community. The Bethlehem Franciscan Boys Home recently celebrated its 15th Anniversary of operations in September.

WHAT: Since 2007, Bethlehem’s “Franciscan Boys Home” has been welcoming children and youth ages 6 to 18 from families in need to give them an education and a future. The Boys Home cares for children experiencing social hardship and extreme difficulty. The Boys Home operates under the supervision of a specialized staff working as a family under the charge of one of the Franciscan Fathers with the assistance of the Franciscan Sisters. To date, more than one hundred children have benefited from the Boys Home services. Additionally, after leaving the Boys Home, many have made some remarkable achievements for themselves and their communities.

Founded in 1994, the Franciscan Foundation for The Holy Land (FFHL) is a worldwide ecumenical organization, based in the USA, operating under the auspices of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land. The principal purpose of the FFHL is to help stem the Christian exodus from the Holy Land by providing programs and projects that will serve as incentives for the Christians to remain as well as safeguarding the basic human rights of the Christian Palestinian minority living in the Holy Land.
